A good edit can make the world of difference to any piece of writing, whether it is text for a company website, a restaurant menu, or a Master's thesis.

I have been a professional editor for more than a decade. I honed my skills at the country's best daily newspaper, Business Day, where I worked first as a sub-editor and then as deputy features editor. I also trained my eye during the six years I spent writing my book The Relatively Public Life of Jules Browde.

My unique skill as an editor is that I'm able to make a text more cohesive, incisive, and engaging, while leaving the writer's personal style - or 'fingerprint' - intact.

My services range from basic spelling and grammar checking, proofreading and copy-editing, to deeper, structural editing and rewriting.

My rates differ depending on the amount and type of editing I need to do.

For a no-obligation quote, please send me a brief description of your text (including the word count) and what editing intervention you think you require. If possible, please send the text itself, or a sample from it. You can contact me here.

Your text will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. For corporate clients (or anyone who'd like one), nondisclosure agreements are available on request.
